Position: Network Engineer
About the Role: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer to join a dynamic IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and continuous development of the global network infrastructure. You will work closely with a diverse team across multiple locations, supporting both internal and customer-specific projects.
Client: Our client provides satellite and radio communication services, offering secure and high-quality voice and data services worldwide, regardless of location or time. It also delivers customized system solutions tailored to specific customer needs.
The organization operates across several countries, including Several European countries, Singapore, and the USA, employing approximately 250 people globally.
Industry Sector: SatCom, Maritime
Location: Hamburg, Germany + up to 6 Days/Month Remote
What You´ll Do:
- Network Infrastructure Management: Ensure the reliable operation of network infrastructure across data centres and regional locations, including UTMs, firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs, and leased lines.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive the continuous development and expansion of the existing network infrastructure, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of the business. Document all changes and updates accurately.
- Project Support: Collaborate with the Global IT team on the development, planning, and implementation of customer-specific projects.
- Technical Support: Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for customer inquiries, addressing and resolving issues related to network infrastructure.
- Communication Systems Management: Oversee the globally networked communication systems, ensuring their efficiency and reliability.
What We´ll Expect:
- Educational Background: Completed apprenticeship or relevant professional experience in IT, particularly in network administration.
- Proficient in network administration and planning, particularly in WAN, LAN, WLAN, VPN, routers, switches, firewalls, and UTMs.
- Experience with Cisco network components is highly desirable (e.g., Cisco CCNA, CCNP or equivalent).
- Knowledge of Cisco CUBE and BGP is an advantage.
- Familiarity with common technologies and manufacturers such as MS Windows Server, MS Hyper-V, HPE servers, HPE switches, VoIP, SBC, DNS, E-Mail Flow, and SSL certificates.
- Language Skills: Strong proficiency in both German and English.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, assertiveness, and confidence in your technical abilities.
